Electroshock batons are one of the most effective
means pf self-protection which do not require a special license
in Russia (for persons over 18 years old).
In Russia there are only four companies who produce
electroshock devices (compare: there were ten such companies in
1998).
NII STALI was the first Russian company to design
and manufacture electroshock batons, first for the Police needs,
and later for commercial customers.
Under the aegis of NII STALI the first Russian Certification
Center for electroshock devices was established which guarantees
high quality of the certified products.

* Yana-4D is the first electroshock baton in the
world to feature a built-in ultrasonic generator to scare away dogs
and other animals. The ultrasound can not be perceived by a human
ear but can be heard by animals who are scared of it.

 How
to use the electroshock baton ?
Electroshock batons can be used in any weather and
climate conditions, even when it is raining.
When using the baton one shall turn the guard ring,
press the button and touch the assailant's body with the main electrodes
at any point. Most susceptible points on the assailant's body are
shown in the diagram. The baton is effective through outer garments
(jacket, coat, raincoat).
The electric discharge on the assailant's body results
in twinge and spasm of muscles, which disables the assailant for
several minutes.
The batons produced by NII STALI are absolutely safe.
Medical certificates are available for all types of electroshock
batons.
Advanced developments of NII STALI
- A miniature ultrasonic dog scaring device is under
development. It will have the size of a cigarette pack. The main
specifications will be the same as of Yana-4D.
- A distant-action electroshock baton is under development. But
unlike a well-known Taser system in which the power is transferred
to the assailant via needle-like electrodes with thin wires shot
from the taser, the new electroshock device will utilize ionizing
or gas-dispersed media for distant effect.
