Personal protection equipment

NII STALI has been engaged in design and manufacture of personal protection equipment since mid 1960s.

The first body armor for Soviet police (ZhZL, ZhZT vests) and Soviet Army (6B2 armor vest) were designed by our company. The follow-on models of Army vests - 6B4 and 6B5, which are still in operational service of the Russian Army, were also designed here. We were the first to design concealable executive and commercial body armor, VIP vests (e.g. for President Gorbachev and his wife, Mr. Nazarbaev etc).

NII STALI was the first company in Russia to start production of ballistic fabric/polymer composite helmets which are unrivaled as to the combination of their protective and weight characteristics; NII STALI is the only Russian manufacturer of seamless extruded titanium helmets with high protection level.

Today NII STALI manufactures over 40 models of body armor for different purposes and with different protection levels; about 15 models of ballistic helmets made of steel, light alloys and composite materials; protective gloves; shields; electroshock batons and a lot of other unique products.
